What is it like to get married?

mac66	I went sledding on my wedding day. Almost got run over by a car. lol The feelings ran from excitement to nervous to anticipation to scared ****less. Dad was my best man and asked me if I was sure. I said yes and everything just felt....right.

Monique F	Honestly, my wedding day was a flop. I dreamed of it my whole life and planned for it one year. I thought it was going to be glorious. The day of the wedding, my mom left a can of pepsi on the edge of the make up table and someone knocked it off right onto my dress!! The make-up artist put to much adhesive on my eyelids for the fake lashes and I must've been allergic to it because my eyes burned the rest of the day. The best man was suppose to stand by for the delivery of the chairs instead he was busy down swimming in the ocean. I had to call the delivery ppl myself to come redeliver and was charged 60.00 extra and they were rude. My husband had a massive hangover from the night before and looked like hell. Our cake fell and was totally lopsided.Oh and did I mention I started my period that very same day.

Dadintrouble	Comming from a man who was in the same exact position you and your husband are in. Dont force or put pressure on him to get married, if he loves you eventually he will see that he does want to on his own. My wife is is divorcing me. Even though i love her, i resented the fact early in our marriage that i felt pressured to do it. It ruined our marriage and her love for me. Sometimes we have to hit rock bottom before we realize our mistakes, unfortuanly it is ususally too late then.

little man cole is here !!!	for me it was a day filled with nerves and doubt it was special we never did the honeymoon thing we didn't have the money I was 19 and he was 22 . it didn't last we divorced 6 years later we had separated after 5 years. I am now in the same boat you are I have been with my boyfriend for 7 years and we have a daughter and a son together I want to get married and he doesn't he says that he does but that we can't afford to right now he's said that for the past 4 years but like you I love him so I am stuck. I feel for you and I wish you the best hopefully one day he will change his mind. I am still hoping

beautyforashes81	I was on a natural high..it was great. But the honeymoon only lasts for so long. Marriage takes WORK. You have to work at it everyday and you have to take care of it and nurture it like a garden. I wouldn't stick with someone for so long who wouldn't want to marry me. I think if you really want to get married, like that is your ultimate desire, then you should be with someone who also loves you enough to love you the same way you love them.

Babycakes	- Honestly, these days I feel like marriage has gotten so out of whack . Some people just dishonor it. I got married when I was 19... & I have been ever since... To me, it was the perfect day... Marriage is not easy & goes thru the same ups & downs that any relationship does... I guess it just makes it "official" on paper... I guess I like marriage b/c it is knowing u have your husband .. But really, as long as u guys have a good relationship, you really do not have to get married... It really is just a piece of paper .... But as a woman, I do understand why u want to be married... Being married would be like sealing the deal... BUt then again , there is always divorce... I would take it personal if my husband didn't want to marry me back in the day... Just b/c I would think , "Well,if he loved me , he would marry me ..." BUT with that said, not everyone wants to get married... Oprah isnt married & probally never will.... U just have to ask yourself if him loving you and being with you is enough... If it is, then that is good cuz you might have a better relationship then like 1/2 the married couples out there anyway... 50 % divorce rate anyway...... My marriage is good for me .. BEen together 10 yrs.. Had some hard times and good times... Just as long as you are happy is what matters...

Morti G	It is a wonderful, special, almost magical day. But why are you resolved to stay with someone who does not want to share that magical day signifying a commitment to each other? You want this, so find someone who will give themselves to you completely. The man you are with right now will never be 100% committed to you if he won't marry you.
