Whats wrong with staying Single?

Kelsey R	It is absolutely fine for you to want to be alone right now... It does not mean you are gay. And if your friends tease you, then they are not true friends. You are only 20 years old. You have your whole life ahead of you to think about relationships. It's also important to get a college education too. And while your friends are out partying all night with their girlfriends, and you are studying, there isn't anything wrong with that either. You just want to focus on school, and that's perfectly fine! Most of the time people call people "gay" or "weird" and it is hurtful. Usually they are calling attention away from themselves, or just trying to "fit in" which is riduculous to redicule your friends for something as stupid as that. I say you don't need to worry about finding the right girl. Like I said, you have the rest of your life for those types of decisions.. and it's a big one too. But don't stress yourself about it Hope that helps :-)

Gator	Its just that some people don't understand that not everyone thinks and desires the same thing in life. I don't think people are weird for choosing a solo lifestyle for themselves. Its very hard for someone to find the right person for them in many cases.

C.G.	I am in the same boat as you man. I honestly find having a girlfriend gets in the way of things I want to do. I dated a girl for about a month recently and I really felt like it was more of an obligation than anything else. People don't really think I'm gay or weird but I do notice a lot of people are obsessed with being in relationships. I know people who just go from one relationship to another and can't handle time being single. I personally am fine being single. I love being by myself. I guess we're in the minority, but props to us!

pablo_asawa	you are one of the wise people who know there limitation whenever you include another person in your life there is a lot of complications and compromise..I salute your lifestyle. 20 is kind of young to swear of relationships but I have a friend who is about 40 and he never gets involved...and yes some people think he is gay but I know him for a long time and he is happier staying single...it would not hurt to have a lady friend as long as you keep it platonic..after you are married awhile..this seems to be the case?

Some people rush into having kids and marrying right away- honestly our society doesn't give a crap if everyone gets pregnant so soon before getting a good education to support a family to begin with, instead they're all on welfare--etc. So kudos to you for empowering yourself, in the end, you'll make a better decision maker as a parent and as a human being-they'll see that eventually.

hammer	NOTHING, absolutely nothing. I think people become reliant on being with another person. I was taught that learning to be alone is the hardest lesson in life. You should tease them for needing to have a girlfriend.

Tainted Heart	Bottom line.....if you want to be single that's your choice. Nothing wrong with that. I know plenty of people that just don't want to deal with relationships. It's their life, their decision. Who ever said you had to date and then marry? If you're happy that's all that matters.

James	Nothing wrong with staying single. If you meet someone and want to be around them, then great. If not, then enjoy being free of all of the stuff that comes with a girlfriend. All of the times that I looked for a girlfriend, I never had one, and the times I didn't care is when someone would just pop in to my life....it's easier to let things happen like they are supposed to. Now go get drunk with your buddies or something, someday you won't be able to!

Oh Hai! It's mike =)	There's nothing wrong with it really. People just tend to flow with society. Boys hook up with girls and they all live happily after. If you dont follow the crowd, you get called names. Do what you want... if you like being on your own, thats the way to go. You arent gay or weird... people just call others names to look cool or feel better about themselves. Good luck, and dont do anything you dont want just because people tell you that you should.

Johnny	I'm the same way, I just don't date. It's a hard concept for people to understand since most people think they NEED to be with someone in order to be happy. But you are truly a special person if you can be happy without someone. There's nothing wrong with you, and yes people are annoying. lol.
