I want to start a new business - i have done all the research and I am now in a position to move forward.
i already have a successful business which I have run for the last 10 years - but i am a bit bored of it now - and due to the recession its not been as lucrative, so I want to start a new business in addition to this to try and bring in some additional income and to give me a new challenge
My wife is always very sceptical of new ideas - I have had a few in the past which she has gone along with, but they have never seemed to work out - these were based on stock markets etc etc - i have never lost money but didn't make much either. She is now very sceptical of anything I propose.
My new business wont take a lot of financing - which I have, but will take a lot of effort to get it off the ground, again something I would relish.
So, whats the best way to approach my wife to try and win her over? - I would not want to commit to this new venture without her 100% approval.

I don't see the problem. History says she is skeptical, but goes along. You probably won't get her very excited...she is more interested in results than potential. But, in the end, she is going to say OK. No problem here. |

You need to think about it from her point of view. If you do this, will she be losing anything? Insurance or any type of benefits?
You need to show her how this new business will benefit her and you both as a family. |

Just tell her your ideas it wouldnt hurt to try, know if she starts beeing negative just tell her that you want to do new things and invest money in other bussiness. And tell her about how much profit your planning to get. Maybe that would make her change her mind. |

Take her out to dinner and ask for her help. Tell her you can't do it without her and encourage her to offer ideas for the new venture............ |

Just like you would do with the bank or any CEO- build a solid business case and present it to her.
This is about money as well as your desire for a new beginning. Explain that and ask her to join you in working it out. |
