Why does my husband try to sneak fat into my diet?

Back when my husband and I were first married, I was around 110 pounds. Over the years I've had a couple kids and now weigh 140. I'm currently trying to get back to 120 pounds.

However, since around 5 years ago, I've noticed my husband trying to sneak fat or calories into my food. He'll offer to get me a bowl of oatmeal and will try to sneak in some cream, will pour out my fat-free salad dressing and replace it with the full-fat version, will offer to get me a refill on my soda at a buffet and come back with regular and try to pass it off as diet. I've asked him to stop, asked him why he does it, etc and don't get anywhere with him. While I'm sure his efforts aren't having much effect on my weight, I don't understand why he would do this.

carl the wise	this happens often. Men for some reason want to make their partner less desirable. It usually is because they fear that you will find someone better if you are out and people are noticing you. It is a form of control.

SomethingClever	LOL, I think my husband does this as well. He knows I'm trying to get my pre-baby body back, and he tells me, "I don't care how big you get, I'll love you anyway". I tell him that I won't love me, so it wouldn't matter. I think he doesn't want anyone else to want me. Maybe the same with you.

He shouldnt be sneaking anything though its important to be open and honest, there is alot more going on in his head if hes popping off salad dressing tops and replacing it with regular. Possibly going to a marriage counceler will help you get to the bottom of the issue

Kenzerzzz	Maybe, it is his way of telling you that he likes you the way you are. But your determination of losing the 20 punds may have discouraged him from speaking up, so instead of using his words he used actions.

If I was on a diet, he'd go out of his way to try and get me to eat fattening stuff by bringing home stuff he knew I loved but couldn't have, etc. I figured it was because he was insecure about me losing weight in case I raced off with some other guy! :) Maybe your husband is feeling the same way ... would rather have you a bit on the pudgy side and feel safe about you than you have looking stunning and getting attention from other guys.

Deez Nuts	Fat fetish? I saw this one episode of this show, "Malcolm In The Middle", where the dad was fattening up that one constantly pissed off lady. and that's a really smart show. its just weird that malcolm and reese are kinda gay for eachother ...I hope this helped
