Why is having babies out of wedlock acceptable now?

Patches	I am from the Old School and I think it is a disgrace to have a baby out of wedlock. The youth of today does not think anything is wrong with anything. Their motto is "whatever".

unsureoflife	I totally agree with you. I am 24 and vowed to get married before having any children. There are so many people in this world that don't know what morals are anymore. They seem to think that having a baby is no big deal. That showing the child what they need in a close knit family is no longer. I just cannot believe the amount of people that are bearing children without a single thought that the child might have a tough time. I remember asking my parents if they were married before they had me. They said yes. It came as a comfort to me to know that my parents were financially and emotionally ok to raise me. I think I did just fine. I just hope the rest of the people can learn morals. Such as being married first. Understandably things happen, but some people dont care anymore, and I think thats sad. Very good question!

leisee	Well things, time and people change... I dont think everyone was made to get married, some people dont wanna get married any at all but want a child or children for that matter. Its all in the person's interest and what that individual wants. Sometimes mistakes happen..so a child is born out of wedlock..besides its not like the child wont amount to anything..it can work just as good in a marriage as well as out of it..Its left to the person and the decisions they wanna make..

pear	Not everyone who wants kids wants a spouse! Whats wrong with raising a kid on your own or having 2 loving parents that are not married? Just because 2 people dont get married, does this mean they cant be loving parents? Anyone can have a child...it just takes love to raise one. Who wants to stay in a marriage or get into one if you are not going to be happy? There is no reason to get married just to have kids and just because you have kids that doesnt mean you have to stay married. You gotta do whatever makes you happy and you can raise a happy child and be happy....without the marriage. Why is this so acceptable today? Because we are a different generation and weve learned from our parents mistakes!

.	Hell I dont think its okay to have babies out of wedlock a baby needs two loving caring parents that are married.
