No. It's a matter of how a home can be run efficiently. Do you agree that it is primarily the bus driver's job to drive the bus? Yes, everyone can take turns driving it but someone has to drive. Whoever does the driving can do it while others ride. They can take turns if need be. |

Yeah, that's how it used to be. But times change. Look at all the opportunities both men AND women can get nowadays. Now maybe you can see how ignorant and pig- headed that question was. Please re-think next time you decide to post such a stupid question. |

Noooo!
50/50
I would feel completely useless if I didn't have a regular paycheck. I like knowing that I contribute to the cost of my living. In my opinion it should be 50/50. We can BOTH earn a paycheck and we can BOTH do some cooking and cleaning.. |

i don't think that works nowadays, with reference to bills, education and mortgage... i think nowadays it works like the follow... Husband work for a Living, Wife work for a Saving... so who's taking care the children then... drop them to your parents house before work, then pick them up after... :)

I agree. She took vows and she better live up to them. A man is given a godgiven duty to provide for his family, so he better!!! |

A big NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. in the modern world, both men and women are breadwinners. what a stupid idea for men to wait for their wife's to do everything. If we all wake up early to go out their to win bread, so should it is , we have to share the household chore. Women were created by God to be helpers, not to be doing donkey work for their families. |

i think the wife should cook and clean and the man bring home the bacon, but now days its the other way around! |

GOSH NO!!!
there are plenty of smart women who making all the money for their family and they own there own company and have a family also.
and there are also women who dont work but that's not all there good for cooking and cleaning...
i will agree there ARE SOME guys who make the money and the woman stays home and takes care of the house and kids...my mom was one of them but she would never say that it is a woman's job and the man makes me money cause more and more now a days its not true at all....its the other way around or women just have a life outside the house...i know when i get married i will have a life outside my family...im a smart intelligent woman who doesn't NEED a man to pay the bills or get me by!
DONT SOUND LIKE A TYPICAL 50s american man PLEASE |

Well, only if that's the agreement. It could be the other way around if the wife is the one with the big job. Believe me, there are plenty of men willing and able to do the domestic end of things....better than the woman.
If both are working the partnership should also be reflected in the division of household chores. |

makes sense but this is the way i see it:
wife's job:
cooking,
cleaning,
laundry,
supporting,
deserves a lot of appreciation
husband's job:
paycheck,
tough cleaning-mowing, painting, fixing, etc.
if a good cook sometime cooking,
holds the entire household's burden,
man of the house,
deserves a lot of respect |

back in the day that may have been so but not now takes a lot of moola to make ends meet so both people have to work while the kiddies are in daycare and school |

Depends on the wife or even you and your values. I dont mind doing all that traditional housewife stuff for my husband while I go to school but I have to do something with my life other than clean up after his crap. I mean it all depends on the individual, some women strive to be housewives some strive to be career women. You just have to find someone on the same page but for me I cant have a man having so much control over my life cause I would constantly have to rely on him for survival. I hope my opinion helps!! |

It can be the other way around. I don't quite agree with that statement. |

Ideally, one person should be a breadwinner and the other a homemaker. I do not assign genders to these two roles as I do not want to tick off the feminist crowd. |

i would say yess because i wouldn't trust my man cooking or cleaning our house lol |

IF she doesn't work then yes BUT if they both work then they should share the housework.
My husband works full-time and i dont work so all the cooking and cleaning is my job and i have NEVER expected him to do anything after he comes home from a long hard day of working. |

yes women should never leave the kitchen. They can go to the bedroom to sleep or pleasure us.
LOL... I only wish. |

only if she doesn't have a real money making job, and even then the guy could help out every once in a while. and same goes for the reverse situation. |

maybe like 50 years ago, but times have changed! my dad does the cooking in our house and i'm a girl, but i plan to be a doctor. women and men can do either; stay at home or work. |

Ummm,
As if!!
You are so like..

nope. I think its the husband's job to worship the ground his wife walks on, his job to cook and clean and do the laundry, shuttle the kids around, do all the yard work and oh wait, earn the pay check so that the wife can live in the lap of luxury. Right? |

Since, many (but, not all) men can't seem to hold down a job - the answer would be NO. |

i would not agree with this because women are smart and they should use that brain and men can always help with cooking and cleaning |

i would agree that couples might discuss their roles in marriage BEFORE they get married.
that way, there would be no great expectations.
