They are humans, they fall in love, they communicate (sign language), they do reproduce, they raise their children whether they can hear or not, they work, they support themselves, they own homes, talk on the phone (through a device for the hearing impaired), they lead very normal lives. They don't let their handicap hold them back, they overcome them.
And it's OKAY ; ) |

Well my husband knew people who were both deaf and married. Their children weren't born deaf. I think that you need to stop assuming things that you don't know about. Deaf people do communicate through sign language with their hands. Where have you been all your life? Seriously come out of hiding and learn the real world. Oh and I forgot to add, that you too could have a chance of having a child that is deaf not just people who already are. |

I am trying so very hard, to not even begin to think, what you were thinking, when you asked this question.
Just like little people can have regular sized kids, blind people can have seeing children, deaf people can have hearing children.
They communicate with SIGN LANGUAGE, just likea speaking person would communicate with a deaf person.
'nuff said. |

how do we communicate with the deaf..... hmmmm.... I wonder sign language! There is a very good chance that two deaf people can have a child that can hear. The deaf are people why would they not be able to marry each other?? |

Of course they can marry one another! How is being deaf any different than any other genetic disorder that one could pass on to kids? It's not a guarantee that two hearing-impaired people will have a deaf child. In fact, the opposite is much more likely to occur because deafness is not always genetic, and even if it is, it's a recessive trait. You can't stop people from getting married just because they can't hear. That's completely ridiculous.
Deaf people communicate through sign language. |

Yes, of course they marry and have children. They communicate with sign language. For babies they have devises that will alert the parent when the baby is crying, that helps alot at night. |

My friend's parents are both deaf, they speak using sign language.
Both her and her sister hear perfectly, and they also learned sign language at a young age so they can communicate with their parents. |

Um, depends on why they are deaf.
Deafness is not equal to worthless, unlovable or useless.
They can communicate with sign language with each other and interpretters with the rest of us.
A handicap doesn't mean you can't fall in love, communicate or have children.
And being deaf isn't a horrible fate |

Sure they can marry each other...they communicate by sign language or perhaps lip reading if their partner ever learned to speak... |

They can get married, and I imagine they communicate through sign language. Also, I suspect very few types of deafness are caused by genetic defect. |

Of course! Deaf people are still people, you know?
What do you think sign language was invented for? They should both be better at communicating than someone who is deaf with someone who isn't deaf, and they can both relate to one other.
The children's deafness depends on the type of deafness. If they acquired deafness through a burst eardrum or something, then being deaf is not in their genes. Some children are born deaf, but I'm not sure if it's something hereditary or not. |

they communicate using sign language....and they can marry each other they have every right too. They also might not have deaf children it's a possiblirty but still. I hoped this answered the question! |

Yes they do marry and communicate using Sign language. They don't necessarily have deaf children. I went to school with a fellow who had two deaf parents yet he was a hearing and speaking child. |
