why do so many military men and women cheat??

peacelovejoy	Because it' hard to be away from your family for so long, because staring death in the face is hard and sometimes it seems like finding comfort in that way is justified in that situation, because they are very stressed and humans are prone to seeking relief in physical contact. Because they are just humans after all and humans are weak and will always make mistakes

Ana	We're military and I've been stationed in Korea where I've seen alot of cheating soldiers. Many spouses make the mistake of living life through their husband (some wife soldier) because there really isn't much else going for them if they are not working or going to school. It takes a very strong marriage with a solid foundation to sustain loyalty in the military. I've seen soldiers who are absolutely loyal to their wives because they seem to have a healthy relationship while there are men who seem to have a wishy washy heart.....they're horny as heck and it would take a miracle for them to keep their you know what in their pants. Anyway, it's not just the military...men cheat on their spouses even if they were living in the same community.

socomgoat	I hope by that, you mean their spouses. I've known plenty of people who enter the military and it's >always< been the spouse to cheat. I think it's, because they can get away with it easier, and that they have spend a lot of time apart due to training excercises. Especially, if the spouse doesn't have a job or something to keep them busy, they get bored and feel need for more attention.

You may be right	wouldn't you if you were away from your life for 6 months, or 2 years doesn't make it right, but it's something to think about

Jonny-5	I was in the US army, and I can't count how many times I've witnessed cheating by male and female. It's kind of like an accepted thing, but it's frowned upon if you're caught. Divorce is really common too. If you ever want to test how strong your marriage really is, then join the military.....

brewbeer212	Usually the women(wives) cheat on the military men when they leave for duty, so I would bet most of the cheating is done against the military men since most of the military is comprised of men. Welcome to the 21st century.

soldier wife	i am a military wife and i think alot has to do with the fact that you feel like you are second in your spouces life the military always comes first no matted what yes im speaking from experience

Hollynfaith	After reading everyone elses response, I felt compelled to answer. You guys are so off the mark on this one. Military soldiers are not pathetic, white trash, disgusting, or any other creative term you've managed to come up with. They are risking their lives to fight for our country in a war they don't even believe in. Not only has our own country turned our backs on them, but the support has also died down too. Can you imagine what that must feel like? Being forced into something you don't believe in (the war) becuase you wanted to do an honorable thing for your country? Then be told that you are only going to be over there for six months and your stay is extended another 18 months? Your leaves home are constantly cancelled, conditions are horrendous and your spouse is a million miles away. And then when and if you get a chance to talk to your spouse, you lie about how bad it is because you don't want them worrying. So who then, are you left to talk to? Your comrads, the fellow soldiers going through the same thing. They are consoling each other over there, able to vent their frustrations and know that someone else has the exact same pain they do. This forms a bond between them and if they are male and female, that bond sometimes goes a little further than it probably should. I answered this question a few days ago and because I actually asked a soldier friend of ours why it's happening to so many of our friends, he explained in great detail. Since then, I've been getting email after email from people who now understand. Yet here I am again, explaining this all over because on the replies I was deeply sickened to read what most of you think of our military. Yes, cheating is wrong, any way you look at it it's wrong....but for the love of God, walk a mile in their shoes before you cast that first stone!

REASON WHY SOLDIERS CHEAT IS THEY ARE JUST GREEDY AND WANT TO FORGET ABOUT THERE FAMILIES WHILE THEY ARE AWAY AND PASS TIME WITH THE NEXT PERSON. THE TRUTH ABOUT IT IS, THE RELATIONSHIP THAT THEY ARE IN PROBABLY HAD PROBLEMS BEFORE THE CHEATING BEGAN WHICH MAKES IT A WHOLE LOT EASIER TO CHEAT. BUT BEING OVER SEAS WITHOUT YOUR WIFE OR LOVED ONE IS HARD, SO PEOPLE LOOK TO FIND OTHERS FOR COMPANIONSHIP.

wrtrchk	Because many of them aren't physically in one place for a long enough period of time, therefore, that behavior sometimes transfers onto their relationship with people. Let's not forget that many of them jump into a marriage to get more money from the government.
