would you rather be rich and unhappy or poor and happy?! why?!?

Rums the Word	I would rather be happy and poor then unhappy and rich. There is more to life then money. If you are happy then you are rich in life, I don't mean money wise either.

Lily	I am already rich and unhappy. So I will op for poor and happy. That is as long as I have a safe warm place to stay. I am really not material at all. (That is how we got to be very comfortable... by saving and not spending) Besides the money can be gone in a flash (look at the stock market today) then what would you be left with!

me...	well heck i would love to be rich but unhappy no I'm very unhappy so i guess i would pick the poor and be happy because i think being loved by someone and him making me happy would be the best feeling ever.... i think money would not even matter! money is nice but why be unhappy you might just end up on drugs or a drunk and then die a very unhappy person never knowing what love is all about... that is just me though!

you & me & me & you	I rather be poor and happy. As long as you are happy and have long, you can get through it all. You can always try to up your financial situation

Callie	Poor and Happy! First, happiness can not be bought or sold, it has to come from within! Happiness is a state of mind, peace and fulfillment. Money is temporary, it only provides instant gratification. I'd take the poor road because I know I would be 'rich' with happiness!! ;-)

Mark G	Happiness is the most important thing. So if I had to choose I'd be poor and happy..which is pretty much where I am now..haha. But really, sometimes when bill collectors are nagging me and there are things I need to buy and the stress is almost overwhelming...I take a moment to think about what I DO have...a woman that loves me and that I love, great children that are healthy and a roof over my head..that's the best stress relief for me.

breisingermela	I would rather be poor and happy. Happiness is everything to me personally. Why have all the money in the world and be unhappy?? My husband and I don't make much money at all...but we are pretty much happy with what we have and happy with our lives. My sister-in-law and husband have money and you can tell they are completely miserable with eachother. She even tries to make me jealous sometimes by rubbing it in my face how much her husband makes for a living. It doesn't bother me at all...cause I look at her life...and I wouldn't want her life for all the money in the world. I am happy and content with my life and she can have the money!!

Brian C.K.	I know plenty of people who are rich and unhappy. What good is having $$$ if you're unhappy? You can buy stuff with $$$, but that won't make you happy either. I know more people with little $$$ and are very happy. Happiness is a frame of mind and it can't be purchased. I won a contest years ago that put me "on top of the world", but after some time, the "stuff" got old and I resorted back to my usual self. I would choose the latter any day. Poor and unhappy.

Austin G	Rich and unhappy! Having money will provide things for you that a lack of money can't. Even if you are miserable money will still buy you things you NEED to survive, such as clothes, food, medical treatment, etc. If you have a loved one that is in need of life saving medical attention money is what you need. "I love you and will pray for you" is all fine and good, but a doctor is what will save your loved one. And those of you that do not have medical insurance understand that without money you get little or no treatment in this country! When your baby cries from hunger, money is what feeds him/her. Money gets you diapers, formula, wipes, medical attention for your child. Anyone that says money is not everything is broke and delusional. Money is not the root of all evil, LACK of money is the root of all evil. Money is what keeps the world going. You may not like it, but it is the truth. .

Sara	How poor? Poor and living in a homeless shelter? If so, I'd rather be rich and unhappy. Because... I would find things to make myself happy. I believe happiness is all a state of mind. If I was guilty for being rich, I would volunteer with some homeless shelters or food pantries to feel I can give something back to the community.

belen2499	I have had the opportunity to live on both sides of the fence. You have to find happiness in yourself first before you can be happy with anything else. I prefer to be poor than to be rich and miserable. Money doesn't buy happiness or love or even friends. Money only pays the bills and buys you necessities and allows you to buy things you don't really need...which does not make you happy in the long run as you will constantly find other things to buy that you think will make you happy. No...for me poor and happy is more pleasurable.
