A question about Forgetfulness and MEPS?
|
I went to MEPS recently and I was dumb and FORGOT (no malicious intent) to tell the Doctors about some achilles tendonosis. I had it treated and I was given the a ok by the doctors. I messed up I realize this. I tried getting a hold of my recruiter, but she's not in right now. How worried should I be right now? Any advice?

If you already went to Meps, completed the duck walk, and passed Docs inspection, you will be ok even if you do not tell your recruiter. HOWEVER, a couple of traits the military live by are integrity and honesty. If you are trying to get into the military to try to start a new way of life, a good way to start would be by telling your recruiter about it! I am sure that you will have to go back to Meps and do what is called an inspect so you can see the Doctor and he can clear you. |

Remember, when you go to MEPS, and you are really serious about joining the military, SAY NO to almost anything that would halt your chances. When I went to MEPS, I didn't tell them about some injuries that occured a long time ago. When they say that they will check your records, they can't. It takes an act of congress for them to do that. As long as you have been told by the doctors that you are fine, then your fine. |

Come clean as sson as you can. You may end up going back up to MEPS to be cleared again. Best policy though is honesty. Good luck and God bless. |
