How is the sacrifice of Canadian soldiers at the Dieppe Raid justified? thanks and 10 points for best answer =) when i say that i would give 10 points for best answer, it basically means that i would actually pick an answer and not just leave it 4 voting or something.. when u get chosen for a best answer, you get 10 points..thats all i meant..........

JBF	The lessons learned were directly responsible for the success of the Overlord operation. And BTW - never say you are going to give 10 points for the best answer. I've been lurking here for years and have answered thousands of questions. Never once in that time have I seen someone who proclaimed they would award the 10 points for best answer do so. Not once.

clark	That raid was sort of a buggered up training excercise. It did show some of the Germans weaknesses as well as some of the allies. This experience paid off at Normandy a couple years later......
