Does MARSOC work with the CIA?
Find answers to your legal question.

Does MARSOC work with the CIA?

i know MARSOC are the top, most skilled and the best special operations forces the U.S.A has to offer and i heard the CIA, recruits these operators because they are the best qualified on the field. is this true? since they do what kind of missions do the CIA task them with?

Yes there is no doubt MARSOC one of the best, and the process of getting in is a long and tough road not like the other Special Ops(Army SF,SEALS) because you can't sign up for it directly on your contract and just get a guaranteed try out. You must be Hand Selected by the Top. to get in you first Pretty much you apply for Recon School, not Force Recon but Recon in itself. When/If you pass this then you work with just the Marines and do recon for them. basically point A to point B and back gathering information. Then there is Force Recon. Force Recon you work with the special operations that involve not only the Marines but all other branches. For Force Recon you go through about 6 other classes that range from 2-5 months in length. Get through this and you can apply for the test which is a day and a half of continuous work until you cant work anymore. If you pass this then you are Force Recon. Pretty much you can be dropped anywhere in the world and get information. Force Recon works in groups of about 7 or 8. The next step is MARSOC.For MARSOC you go through more schooling AFTER you are Force Recon. And there is a separate test for this. most of the Marines/Navy people that sign up for MARSOC are prior SEALS, occasionally SF and or Force Recon. Marines, soldiers and Sailors intended to serve as operators are then Assessed and Selected. Assessment and Selection (A&S) is an intensive 3 week testing program that determines whether or not a candidate has the attributes required to be MARSOF (Marine Special Operations Forces). MARSOF Operators must be mature, intelligent, mentally flexible, determined, and physically fit. They must be complex problem solvers who are comfortable working in an ambiguous environment. Candidates with these attributes are selected and subsequently assigned to MARSOC. They participate in specialized unit level training to prepare them to conduct assigned SOF(Special Operations Forces) missions. Marines who join MSOAG (Marine Special Operations Advisor Group)attend a 7 month individual pipeline that trains them in all required skills for their mission. Further unit level collective training completes their preparation for deployment. With MARSOC you don't always work for the military directly, you may do work for agencies like CIA. and operate in SAD( Special Activities Division) and don't exist pretty much. These operators are the guys that are spies and the such. MARSOC usually work in pairs, which is different than recon. for SAD, MARSOC are fighting the more political side of the war. This includes assassinations, capture of high value targets and framing on others, just no one knows about who did it. so to be invisible there is MARSOC, Pretty much MARSOC does whatever they are told be agencies, and is like Navy Seals but more highly trained and secretive. they are ghosts which also is why we do not see them in movies and video games like Call Of Duty. MARSOC has started a reorganization. The primary purpose is to better balance the capabilities of MARSOF and better balance the operator/support ratio within MARSOC to execute direct and indirect missions. The reorganization enables a long term relevant special operations force with greater self sufficiency. There are two schools for MARSOC, one at camp lejune for the east coast and one in California for west coast. It will will provide operational commanders with well trained Marine Special Operations Forces that are prepared to execute the assigned missions.

I wouldn't say they are the best. MARSOC are have only been around a few years, and don't have too much under their belt yet. Id say the top forces are Combat Applications Group ( CAH/Delta), and DevGru. Then like the other guy said, CIA SAD. but I am sure the CIA has worked with them. There is no way we can know exactly what the CIA does with MARSOC, but my guess would be they aid in reconnaissance, or the capture of high value targets. I know the CIA worked with Delta and Special Forces in the capturing of HVT's in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Yes they do. They've been working together like crazy in Kandahar (city in Kandahar province) and Khost (afghan-pakistan border village). I also heard last week that Marines will now have a Tier-1 unit in JSOC coming up soon. This isnt rumors, this comes from the top at Fort Bragg.

Lord
The top, most skilled, and the best SOF are not at the USSOCOM level. The top are at the JSOC level. The best out there would either be CAG/Delta and DEVGRU. The very very top, is the special activities division (SAD) of the CIA. CIA gets a lot of the operators from the various USSOCOM forces.. SEALs, SF, MARSOC, etc. as well as Force Recon. Whether or not they work with them isn't really any of your business, no offense. Though, it should be common sense. I'll give you a hint.. there are currently units from 3 branches at Camp Chapman. If you don't know what/where that is. I suggest you google it. No offense taken d375, the best of the best are at the JSOC level and SAD. Well, the best of the best are probably some guys we have never heard about anyway lol. UltimateRacer23, in response to your "additional details," I personally will not go into that due to OPSEC. I suggest you look at what MARSOC is normally tasked with and come up with your own conclusion. Talking about the alphabets are a fine line.
