The military also requires decent spelling. You spelt it: militarty Real Spelling: **Military**

You could get a waiver for it, also if there is documented proof that you have high blood pressure or that you take medication for it. Your chances are slim, but I had a friend who took medicine for his high blood pressure and he was in the military. You would have to check with you local recruiter.

If you are required to take a prescribed medication to control it, you won't be allowed into the military.

If it is 140/90 or higher, it is considered high. Period. And if it is that high, you need to be on medication because that can damage your arteries. If it's below 140/90, it shouldn't be a problem (unless it's extremely low). If it's above, it shouldn't be a problem as long as you are taking medication to control it or your doctor has you on a treatment plan. Has your doctor officially diagnosed you with high blood pressure? I don't think it with hurt you either way... Either he'll diagnose you and give you a prescription, or he won't, in which case I doubt they will make a big deal of it. Probably the most they'll do is make you see another doctor and get a prescription. Do you have anything to check your blood pressure at home? It could just be high because you're nervous about being at the doctor's office. I know mine is always higher at the doctor's office because of that. I'd also try to get it down before MEPS, just in case. You doctor should be able to tell you what to do, whether its a prescription or just eating better/exercising. Exercising and eating less sodium should definitely help though. Good luck!
