Is there a possiblity of a war between Iran and Israel?

haroldFirst Name Dalton	Some O.. you are seriously underestimating Israel's military might.. look up the war in 1967.. you said the iranian president calling for the destruction of israel is merely a slogan?.. who are you kidding.. thats the dumbest thing ive heard today.. dare i even touch on the other bull crap you said??

Seraphim	I will answer in order: 1. Israel would win 2. The Arab countries would side with Iran (duh) 3. I don't know what the most significant event of the war would be. Prolly the fact that it had to be fought. 4. No, it would not be a nuclear war. That is IF Israel attacks preemptively, which I think is likely. If they do not, then it will be nuclear. Israel will have been destroyed by the mad mullahs. 5. No, it would not start WWIII 6. I'm always on the side of the freedom loving democracies. So obviously that is Israel. What is disgusting is that Israel (again! remember Osirek? Sadaams nuclear power plant?) is being forced to do the dirty work of the western democracies. We are too tied down in Iraq and Afghanistan to invade Iran and the Europeans are wussies. So expect a bloody war (surgical strikes will not work -- Iran learned the lessons of Osirek and will have dispersed their nuclear program). Remember, Irans president has already pledged death to Israel and the Arab world would like nothing better than to wipe Israel off of the map. I stand behind Israel 100%.

that_stuff_and_things_guy	Yes. There will be no winners. Arab countries will take Iran's side, or will take the side, but not support with troops. It would be a nuclear war, but Iran would most likely lose most of the population of Tehran to nuclear attack. Israel has close to 70 nuclear warheads. This would not be the start of WWIII, but it could be the end of the middle east as an oil power.

Leeor	Well, there is tension between Iran and Israel especially because of Iran's current development of nuclear bombs. The most significant action that Israel might take would be to take down Iranâ€™s nuclear plants â€“ something that would delay acquiring nuclear bombs. If this action takes place, Iran would attack without restrain on their behalf. If such a war takes action, Arab nations such as Lebanon, Syria and the Palestinians would definitely group up with Iran. Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia would most likely remain neutral (Jordan and Egypt have peace with Israel). Regardless, Israel is a much stronger super power; it has submarines, the most advanced air force and tanks in the Middle East, best technology and a big arsenal of hydrogen and nuclear bombs. It is highly unlikely that Israel would stop existing.
