Russia puts tanks and missiles back in Red Square parade, what's your rection?

Seth	In my VERY personal opinion, they're just trying to look good. Their missiles, according to FOX News, were just fakes and not armed at all. No new weapons on parade, so its the same old soviet **** from the 1980's. We now have stealth bombers/fighters, something they're not even close to. So, I don't think we have anything to worry about. Yet.

Ray H	I think they are just trying to instill pride in the people by showing they still have some military power.

Flanders	I'd be worried if I was in Georgia. I wonder if the tanks and missilles went round the block and paraded again to make it look like they have more, like in the old Soviet days. The scary thing is, the public watching were enthusiastic, spured on by a resurgent nationalism. As aposed to clapping politly in a forced way like they used to.

Smoker06	No reaction here. Russia is it's own country, free to do what it wishes with its military. Besides, everybody loves a parade.

desertviking_00	They have held a victory parade every May 8th in Red Square for over fifty years to commemorate the defeat of Nazi Germany in the Great Patriotic War Against Fascism. Considering the huge number of casualties they suffered in that war, I do not find fault with their wanting to hold a parade. Three out of every eight women in the Soviet Union was first widowed by her 24th birthday. Now, that's a horrendous death toll. If they hold an equally impressive parade in October to commemorate the Bolshevik overthrow of the Menshevik government in 1917, then I would worry about a "new Cold War". This is just another story to draw a crowd, give some job security to pundits and "experts" in business suits and ties gathered as a panel on cable TV news outlets and have people glued to the screen while they sell them stuff.

rcabletn	Russia and Iran are networked intensely together with their economics. Iran's survival is necessary for Russia's economy. USA is bully on the globe. We need a "nosebleed"!

Stuart	First, I don't have a "rection" to this. Russia owns the tanks and missles. We know that they own them. If they want to take them out for a walk, that's their business.
