Unlike Navy and Air Force support personnel in the Army and Marines Corp. EVERY swinging di*k regardless of job title is first and foremost a soldier whose job is to fight. Anyone who tells you differently is a liar. |

It all depends on your Mos, some Mos have a higher risk of combat than others, but does it matter, if you wanna see combat that bad, volunteer for a unit that is deployable, or change your Mos to an infantry unit, get the training and kick some ***, there are ways around the system you just have to know how to play it. |

yes you will even if your primary job isn't infantry. Remember your very first job is to defend, and if you are needed to do that then so shall it be. |

The marines main job is to fight the problem at hand. You are going to take a chance with any branch of service that you choose. Whenever you are signing your paperwork to join there is a spot that tells you that you may be required to fight during combat. The whole point of serving is to defend your country. |

there is always a risk of being in combat when you are in the military. There are weekend warriers who have been sent to iraq. |

You don't get to chose your job in the Marines. If they say you are infantry, you're infantry.
The Army lets you chose, but I've seen cooks on gun trucks, so a job isn't a guarantee.
Not sure, but I don't think the Navy/Air Force lets you choose jobs either. |

Yes there are other combat positions other than infantry. If combat is a real concern for you then I would suggest that you not join any branch of the US Military. Try the PEACE CORP. instead of the MARINE CORP. HOOYAA |
