when i joined up it was 25 mile run full kit and ammo , assult coarse then firing range one right after the other

BFT, CFT, ACFT or APFA ? basic fitness test - running kit, 800m warm-up 1 1/2 miles individual effort depending on age [under 30's 10 1/2 mins]

bft is a mile and a half as a squad in 15 mins then a mile and a half on your own in under 12 mins and the time drops the younger you are

They tried to introduce the BFT in the Royal Navy when I was in but people died before they got round to getting me to do it and it was forgotten about. I believe it had to do with running in a squad, firing your personal weapon and maybe a gas mask was involved, sounds a bit kinky.

it consists of an 8 mile course which you have to complete as a section in 2 hours.you have full kit on and at the end you have to fire your weapon and get at least 28 out of 40 rounds on target.That was a few years ago though.it might have changed now.
