i heard from my friends that the maximum age for becoming a marine corps is 40 y.o. but 28??? it's still very young, of course he can be a Matine corps as long as he has the qualifications. Don't hesitate to try, even if it is not possible, just try it. u will not know if u are one of the exceptions becoz u are different with others... |

Not at all. I was an 18 year old private and had a couple of my senior Marines that were 29 and 30 years old. You'll be older than everyone else you join with, and they'll jokingly refer to you as grandpa or old man, but besides that, go for it. I did it, and now I don't have to spend the rest of my life wondering if I could and what it would be like... |

I served 26 yrs in the army.speaking from experience I don't think you have thought this through properly, and that is a worry espescially if you are considering the leadership of others.Secondly you pick the toughest outfit in the world to train in and all the men you will be trainiung with will be 10yrs. younger than you.wake up son the dreams over.In the marines you would be a liabiliy in a Core you would be an assett |

As a soldier now, I enlisted at 24 with 3 kids and a wife. I believe joining at a later age lets you understand the military alot more and not be brain washed like people that are 18. And on the Officer side you find alot of young officers that are in there early 20's that are still basicly kids. So i guess what i'm saying is no 28 is not too old. If I could make a suggestion though, the Army promotes quicker and pays more than any of the other services out there. |

As former recruiter (Navy) the normal cut off age is usually 31 but there are so many different factors that can come into play, since you have a degree officer would be a good option but it depends on what your degree is in and how well you do on the officer entrance exam. My best advice would be to sit down and actually speak with a recruiter, remember your not obligated to do anything until your sworn in |

you know , I think about this myself at times and I am also 28... I think you only live once so go for it if you thinkit is right for you...its only 4 years...4 years will pass before you know it |
