some jobs will increase your rank quicker than others, but they pay by rank. most infantry never get past sgt, but a pilot is likely to make it to LT |

It's not the job in the army that you get paid more, it's the rank that you are. |

All US Military branches are paid the same for base pay. It goes by rank and time in service, job has NO effect on your base pay. |

All the jobs pay based on your rank, no matter what specialty you have. In general, Combat Arms jobs get higher bonuses for reenlisting. |

Pay by rank is the correct answer. However, if you enlist or re-enlist for jobs for which there is a shortage you might get a bonus of some sort. |

all jobs pay the same. it depends on your rank.
if you have a higher rank you will have higher pay.
your job has nothing to do with it.
except maybe if your job can take you to hazardous areas , then you might get hazardous pay. or demo pay, jump pay,. (but thats mainly Special Forces). |

It depends on rank and wether you are active or reserve/guard
below is the 2008 pay chart by years of service, rank, and active or not
edit: the 2nd link gives alot of info between branches too |

All jobs pay by rank.
But, enlistment bonuses are given by MOS, so a shortage MOS can be said to 'pay better' because you will get a large lump sum in addition to your salary.
There are also MOS areas that are more likely to be assigned to 'special duty' that offers incentive pay like Airborne pay for being on Airborne status, or Sea pay for being on a ship, or Hazard pay for EOD.
But pick something you like. Otherwise you will have a long enlistment. |

There are certain jobs that can get special pay if that is what you are talking about. For instance a linguist in the military gets FLPP pay which can be an extra 1000 a month depending how how many languages you have and what your DLPT score was (you have to pass a yearly language test in order to receive the pay). Also, if you hold an airborne slot you can get paid a little extra as well. Other than that you are paid the same as everyone in your rank category. |
