When your enlistment is up, don't reup. Go back to civilian life where you won't see death and destruction any more? Yeah, sure and I'm the Iraqi pope!

Yes it's time to pack it in "but" are they allowed to do so?, only if they claim they have psychological or mental problems, what man is willing to be looked upon as having mental problems? None, is my guess. Just recently before Christmas the moral of the troops was at a very low, they were starting to believe that they were fighting a useless battle. How many do you think would have preferred to come home? I believe they are all sick of death starring them in the face.

I served our country, the USA, in the Air Force and I was in Iraq back in the 90's...the first time we were there. As a soldier you never get used to death, but you have to learn to deal with it. I have seen too much death in my lifetime, but I can tell you one thing for sure....it makes you appreciate every day of your life and the freedoms we have in this country.

I have seen plenty of death, after assisting my fellow Marines recover the bodies of many of my comrads after a truck full of explosives was driven into our barrack in Lebanon back in October of 1983,fortunately I was on patrol when this happened and while digging for the remains of my fellow Marines I witnessed plenty of gruesome sites I will never forget, but I managed to blot those things from my mind and went on with my life ,

A sailor would put an oar over his shoulder and start walking inland until someone asked him what that thing was on his shoulder and he would know he had gone far enough from that question. I don't know what a soldier would do? s if is just time to reach down really deep inside and make a change. other times it helps to stay the course for your "Shipmates" It is a personal decision that we all make some where in our lives.

They just have to deal with it cause if they go crazy and have to leave then they get called a "deserter" of the military by a bunch of conservatives who never picked up a gun unless they're raping their daughter.

No. Plenty of people deal with death on a daily basis: Doctors, Police, EMS. It's part of their profession.
