A Spanish MEP criticizes what he calls 'German dictatorship' in EU
Spanish Socialist leader in Parliament, Juan Fernando Lopez Aguilar, Friday criticized the European Council winter result, stating that this meeting has accepted what he called 'dictatorship' of Germany, sent the agency EFE.
'Germany has imposed three years of diagnosis and treatment disastrous' prescribing 'an overdose of anemia budget' that affect 'the weak', says MEP. He said that European socialists considers this summit aims to present the budget pact concluded as a fiscal union, but the reality is different, because in order to reach this goal requires increasing the powers of the European Central Bank, for a real economic government EU and a tax harmonization within the EU.

In his opinion, 'is presented as a fiscal union' which is merely 'a set of budget restrictions of questionable legal legitimacy' and numerous negative consequences for the population and especially for those most disadvantaged. For Spanish MEP, the European Council the result is 'disappointing' to Europeanism, 'not only in content but also by the method'. This method is, according to Lopez Aguilar, in simple bilateral meetings between German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Nicolas Sarkozy before each EU summit at which German leader should position followed by the French electoral reasons.

Spanish lawmaker believes that this way is contrary to 'Community approach' in decision-making process within the EU and affects plus 'policy autonomy' all Member States. He argues that European socialists are convinced that the current crisis will not leave until we change 'approach'.

Following proposals made by France and Germany, the leaders of the euro area Member States in the last European Council agreed on a budget pact to be completed by next year in March and particularly provides tighter budgetary discipline. European Union member states are not in the euro area (except Great Britain who categorically opposed the agreement) have announced that they could rally the pact after consulting national parliaments.
