David Cameron said on Monday in the House of Commons, the decision taken at the EU summit held Thursday and Friday in Brussels, where he refused to sign the new European Union. "It was in our interest," said Cameron. Tensions were felt even in the governing coalition.
Pro-European, Nick Clegg, Liberal Democrat leader, would not stay with Cameron. The opposition did not hesitate to attack the prime minister.
