ECB chief: EU summit "led to a very good result"
EU summit in Brussels "has led to a very good result", said Friday morning, after the first day of talks, the European Central Bank President Mario Draghi, reports said.
"We reached a conclusion which will be detailed in the following days and then we implement. It is a very good result for the euro area, very good," Draghi said, quoted by DPA.
Decisions were "quite close to one (package - no) tax good, compact," said ECB President, referring to the adoption of more stringent rules of budgetary discipline, which, according to analysts, the institution had set them as precondition for a new grant aimed at resolving the crisis in the euro area.
"It will be a basis for a more disciplined economic policy for the euro area Member States. And will certainly be helpful in the situation," said President of the ECB.
