Russia: New Minister of Finance has a new Minister of Finance
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on Friday appointed as Minister Anton Siluanov finance. RIA Novosti reports.
"I signed a decree appointing the Finance Minister," he said.
Siluanov, former deputy minister of finance, replacing Akleksei Kudrin, Medvedev dismissed in September after ten years in office.
Kudrin was dismissed after saying he would not serve under a government led by Medvedev. Medvedev is likely to become prime minister next year, after the victory of Vladimir Putin in presidential elections.
