Russia criticizes U.S. authorities' reaction to the movement Occupy Wall Street
Envoy for Human Rights of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Konstantin Dolgov said that most actions are peaceful and Occupy movement criticized U.S. authorities for having used violence against demonstrators. "As the authorities' reaction to these protests, including the United States, we can show the presence of elements of cruelty unjustified and, in some cases, disproportionate use of force," Dolgov said in a statement.

"News stations regularly show scenes of violent dispersal by police of camps and peaceful demonstrations," he added.

Statement occurs in conditions in which Russia is facing a wave of protests against the election results of December 4. Hundreds of people were arrested as a result of these meetings.

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on Thursday accused U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that triggered anti-government demonstrations in the country. "She said that (the election - no) were neither free nor fair, although it had received reports of observers," said the head of government in Moscow. "What the tone of political groups in our country, it transmitted a signal. They heard the signal from U.S. Secretary of State and started work," he added.
