The gold price is heading Monday for the biggest daily drop in the last three months, following the appreciation of the dollar, which affects demand major regions for precious metals such as India.

Lack of confidence has led investors to turn to the relative safety rather than the dollar to gold, whose quotation fell 5% in just one week.
At 3:08 p.m. GMT, spot gold was traded down nearly 3% to $ 1,659.66 an ounce.
The euro is down 1.2%, to $ 1.3216 per unit, after reaching a minimum of $ 1.3208 per unit meeting, the lowest level since October 4.
Dollar appreciates against the euro and Indian rupee falls, which affects the demand for gold, said a trader.
